Charter of the PSTG

The Private Sector Technology Group (PSTG) is a broad based group of information technology companies and professionals providing solutions in the health information systems environment. This group's talents and expertise ranges from system design consulting to program operations. PSTG is a resource for federal and state governments to obtain information regarding the application of information technologies to health services administration.

The goals of the PSTG are to:

  • Promote the understanding that information technology improves management/administration through greater control and accountability-, achieves higher quality and efficiency at lower overall costs, and fosters greater standardization.
  • Eliminate obstacles to the adoption of information technologies.
  • Share information among the agencies responsible for administering Medicaid and other state health programs.
  • Stay abreast of changing program requirements resulting from legislation, regulation or policy issuances.
  • Communicate the impact of such changes to appropriate state and federal agencies and interest groups.
  • Promote electronic health care transactions including the standardization of formats for electronic media.

The members of the Private Sector Technology Group hope to attain these goals through an open dialogue between industry and government.
